Rites and Wrongs Of Spring

A concise, in-depth look at all the gos - April 21-22, 2006

Rite: My Morning Jacket playing to the underage, the overly-intoxicated, and the hippies…hmm…fascinating

Wrong: Clap Your Hands Say Yeah playing an outdoor show….keep it locked up inside da club fellas….

Wrong: Someone told me Blue Play…Cold Merle…and Glad That Was Your Last Freakin Show played, but I was napping. Bummed I missed that.

Wrong: Me, not attending the Saturday sessions featuring Bone Thugs (don’t really know where the harmony went…just Bone Thugs) and Secret Machines

Wrong: trying to decide where to eat outside and enjoy the wonderful Nashville weather. I’ve heard stories of some people traveling from SatCo to 12th avenue to Rumba, then sitting inside after changing tables…..and all b/c someone had bought movie tickets….I’m convinced never making a plan is the best plan ever…either that or committing to be non committal on all plans/activities requiring a commitment

Rite: A certain someone was busted by the Vandyroo authorities for the act of smuggling 16oz cans in instead of 12oz cans…. you know the rules: 6, 12oz cans per person, in a bag tied with blue and white ribbon and the words “this is beer” stenciled on the outside…..oh yeah, in red ink…and you need a note from your mom and your doctor…no, not that doctor…that’s just sick…

Wrong: There is no squeaky clean spring mix to ring in the rites of spring...what’s that, 3 years straight?….and no, sending an iTunes iMix doesn’t qualify nick - wah, wah, wah

Rite: $2 foot long, seemingly-illegal, hot dogs...but leave the cash under the napkins and don't tell anyone...shhh...are they looking....take the mustard and go

Rite: ROS is now dubbed Vandyroo (thanks benji)….i’m sure sorority girls are still washing the puke out of their skirts…and no, that event is not open to the public
